The SGPC has pledged Rs 5 lakh to each of four Amritsar youths injured during an anti‑drug campaign.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to each of four young men from Amritsar who sustained injuries while taking part in a community initiative against drug abuse.
The youths, aged between early twenties, were reportedly involved in a local anti‑drug campaign when they were attacked by unknown assailants. Their injuries required medical treatment, prompting the SGPC to step in with the monetary aid.
The committee said the funds are intended to cover medical expenses and support the victims' families, underscoring its commitment to combat substance abuse in Punjab. No further details on the perpetrators have been released.
