Self-immolation at Kangra’s Jwalamukhi Temple Claims Life of Jhajhar Resident

Ramdas, a resident of Jhajhar in Rajasthan, set himself on fire at the Jwalamukhi Temple in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh and later died while receiving treatment at Tanda Medical College.
A man identified as Ramdas from Jhajhar, Rajasthan, deliberately set himself ablaze inside the Jwalamukhi Temple located in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The act was witnessed by temple visitors who immediately called for assistance.
Severely burnt, Ramdas was rushed to Tanda Medical College where doctors began intensive care. Despite emergency interventions, his injuries proved fatal and he succumbed while under treatment.
According to his relatives, Ramdas had been missing since 2024 after a family dispute, and his sudden reappearance at the temple culminated in this tragic self‑immolation.
The incident has prompted local authorities to review security measures at the temple and to examine protocols for handling self‑harm cases in the region.
