Authorities have increased security presence in Ayodhya as the city finalizes arrangements for the Deepotsav festival.
Ayodhya police have deployed additional personnel and surveillance equipment in anticipation of the Deepotsav celebrations. The reinforcement includes extra uniformed officers at key entry points, mobile patrols near the river ghats, and heightened monitoring of public spaces where crowds are expected to gather.
Officials said the move is a precautionary measure to manage the large influx of devotees and tourists expected for the festival, which features illuminated displays and cultural programmes across the city. Coordination with local municipal authorities is underway to ensure crowd control, traffic management, and rapid response capabilities.
The security upgrade comes as organizers rush to complete last‑minute preparations for the event, which is slated to begin later this week. No specific threats have been reported, but the authorities are maintaining a heightened state of alert to safeguard public safety.
The police have also issued advisories urging visitors to cooperate with security checks and to follow designated routes. The measures are expected to remain in place throughout the duration of Deepotsav, after which a review will be conducted.
