Sundarban Coalfields Limited (SCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, announced that it has secured the Manuguru coal block in Telangana. The acquisition broadens SCCL’s coal mining footprint in the southern state.
The Manuguru block, located in the Manuguru taluk of Telangana, was awarded to SCCL following the latest allocation process for coal blocks. The move is part of the company’s strategy to increase its coal production capacity and meet the growing demand for coal in India’s power sector.
SCCL’s management stated that the new block will support the company’s long‑term growth plans and contribute to the supply of coal for thermal power plants across the country.
