State Bank of India told customers that despite a recent data breach, their deposits remain secure.

State Bank of India (SBI) issued a public statement reassuring its customers that their monetary balances are unaffected by a recent cyber incident that exposed personal data. The bank emphasized that the breach did not compromise any account funds or transaction capabilities.

According to the notice, the compromised information pertains to customer identifiers such as names, addresses and contact details, but no evidence points to unauthorized access to financial assets. SBI said it has activated its incident‑response protocols and is working with cybersecurity experts to contain the breach.

The bank urged customers to remain vigilant, monitor their accounts for any unusual activity, and report suspicious communications. SBI also confirmed that it will continue to provide regular updates as the investigation progresses.
