Saudi Arabia Tightens Umrah Visa Rules: Mandatory Pre‑Trip Booking via Nusuk Platform

Saudi Arabia now requires pilgrims to book a new Umrah package through a registered service provider on the Nusuk platform and obtain a fresh permit via the Nusuk app before each visit.
Saudi authorities have revised the rules governing multiple‑entry Umrah visas. While the visa still permits several trips within its validity, each pilgrimage now demands a separate permit obtained through the official Nusuk system.
Pilgrims must first select a registered service provider on the Nusuk digital platform, book a fresh Umrah package, and then generate a new permit using the Nusuk mobile application before departing for Saudi Arabia.
The change applies to all foreign visitors, including the large number of Indian devotees who travel for Umrah each year. Travel agents are advised to inform clients early so that itinerary planning accounts for the additional booking step.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah says the measure aims to improve crowd management, ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, and streamline the overall pilgrimage experience.
Indian pilgrims are urged to check the Nusuk portal well in advance and keep the app updated to avoid last‑minute complications.
