Police in Satna uncovered a hidden raw liquor production unit in Piprokar village, Nagod district, seizing 35 quintals of illicit spirit and related materials.
Following a series of deaths in Sagar’s Bunda area caused by toxic liquor, the state excise department intensified its anti‑alcohol operations. On Tuesday, officers raided a concealed site in Piprokar village of Nagod district, part of the Satna region. The raid uncovered a makeshift ‘mini factory’ used for producing raw liquor.
During the operation, authorities seized 35 quintals of unlicensed spirit along with various production equipment and building materials. The quantity of liquor seized is equivalent to about 3,500 liters, a significant haul for a single illicit operation.
The excise officials stated that the discovery was part of a broader crackdown aimed at curbing illegal distillation after the recent fatalities. They added that the seized materials would be destroyed or processed for legal use, and that further investigations will target the supply chain.
The raid underscores the government’s commitment to enforcing liquor regulations and protecting public safety in Madhya Pradesh.
