Sagar Police Arrest Poisoned Liquor Case Fugitive Shivanjay Rajput After Gunfire

Shivanjay Rajput, the main suspect in the Sagar poison liquor incident, was apprehended by police after a brief encounter. The fugitive, who was listed with a 30,000‑rupee reward, opened fire on officers as they approached, prompting a return volley from the police. The gunshot struck Rajput in the leg, leaving him wounded but alive. During the arrest, authorities seized a homemade gun, ammunition, a mobile phone and a motorcycle from his possession.

The incident took place in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, where the police had been tracking Rajput for several weeks following the discovery of toxic liquor that had caused multiple deaths. The encounter was described as a "half encounter" by local media, indicating a brief but intense firefight.

Police officials confirmed that Rajput was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment of his leg injury. The seized weapons and personal items are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation into the poison liquor case.
