Sagar Police Arrest Main Accused in Toxic Liquor Case After Encounter

Sagar police arrested the main accused in the Banda toxic liquor case, Shivanajay Rajput, following an encounter. He sustained a leg injury from police fire, and a country-made pistol, ammunition, mobile phone and bike were recovered from his possession.
The accused, Shivanajay Rajput, was identified as the primary absconding suspect in the Banda toxic liquor case, carrying a reward of thirty thousand rupees. Sagar police located him and attempted to apprehend him, which led to an armed encounter.
During the encounter, police fired in self-defence, resulting in a bullet striking the accused’s leg. He was subsequently taken into custody after receiving medical attention for the injury.
A search of the accused yielded a country-made pistol, live ammunition, a mobile phone, and the motorcycle he was using. These items have been seized as evidence.
The toxic liquor case, which has claimed several lives in the region, remains under investigation. Police are interrogating the accused to uncover further details about the illicit liquor network.
