Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared his expert batting strategies suited to New Zealand conditions, aiming to help players adapt to the country's unique pitches.
Former Indian captain and batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar recently addressed a gathering of cricketers, offering detailed guidance on how to negotiate New Zealand’s distinctive playing surfaces. The session, reported by Asianet Newsable, focused on the technical adjustments required when facing the seam‑friendly and often swing‑laden conditions found across the country.
Tendulkar emphasized the importance of early footwork, a compact back‑foot stance and a measured approach to the ball’s movement off the seam. He also highlighted shot selection, advising batsmen to play late and under the eyes, especially against the lateral swing that New Zealand bowlers commonly generate.
The former great concluded by urging players to practice on similar pitches and to develop a temperament that balances aggression with patience, traits he believes are essential for success in the southern hemisphere.
