Director Sachin Pilgaonkar has disclosed that his decision to cast Madhuri Dixit as an inspector in his forthcoming film Prem Deewane was directly influenced by her portrayal in the 1995 movie Abodh. The veteran filmmaker noted that Dixit’s ability to embody a strong, authoritative character in Abodh left a lasting impression on him.
Pilgaonkar explained that when he watched Dixit’s performance, he immediately saw her potential to carry a role that required both gravitas and nuance. "If she can do that in Abodh, she can pull this off too," he remarked, underscoring his confidence in her versatility.
The revelation highlights how past performances can shape casting decisions in Bollywood, especially when a director seeks actors who can convincingly portray complex characters. Pilgaonkar’s choice of Dixit for the inspector role is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to Prem Deewane’s narrative.
As Prem Deewane moves into production, fans are eager to see how Dixit’s portrayal of an inspector will differ from her earlier roles, and whether her experience in Abodh will translate into a compelling on-screen presence.
