Russian envoy Alipov said on Friday that India purchases Russian oil to support its own development, not to help Russia. He added that Moscow remains committed to fulfilling New Delhi's energy demands and criticised Western secondary sanctions.
On Friday, Russian envoy to India Alipov addressed reporters, discussing the ongoing energy cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi.
He remarked that India’s purchase of Russian oil is aimed at supporting its own development rather than assisting Russia, countering perceptions that the trade helps Moscow.
Alipov reiterated Russia’s commitment to meet India’s energy demands, stating that Moscow will continue to fulfil New Delhi's requirements.
The envoy also criticised Western secondary sanctions, describing them as unfair pressures that hinder legitimate trade between the two countries.
