₹1.65 Lakh Job Scam in Europe Exposed After Facebook Ad

A man was duped out of ₹1.65 lakh after responding to a Facebook ad promising a job in Europe. He later contacted the scammer, who called him back, and the case is now under investigation.
A man from India was defrauded of ₹1.65 lakh after he responded to a Facebook advertisement that promised a job in Europe. The ad, which appeared in the victim’s news feed, claimed that a European company was looking for qualified candidates and would provide all necessary documentation and travel arrangements.
The scammer requested an upfront payment of ₹1.65 lakh to cover visa and relocation costs. The victim, believing the offer to be genuine, transferred the money to a bank account provided by the alleged recruiter.
After realizing that the job offer was a fabrication, the victim called the accused, who in turn called him back. The conversation revealed that the accused was a fraudster operating under the guise of a legitimate recruiter.
Police have taken the complaint and are investigating the case. The victim has been advised to report the incident to the local cybercrime cell and to keep all transaction records as evidence.
Authorities are warning the public to verify job offers through official company channels and to be wary of any request for large upfront payments.
