Veteran batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have rejoined the Indian squad in New Zealand as the team intensifies its preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli arrived in New Zealand this week to re‑join the Indian cricket team that is gearing up for the 2027 One‑Day International World Cup. Their return marks the first time the two senior players have been part of the squad’s overseas camp since the last major tournament.
The team has set up a high‑performance base in Auckland, where players are undergoing intensive net sessions, fielding drills and simulated match scenarios. Coaches have scheduled a series of warm‑up games against local sides to fine‑tune batting orders and bowling combinations ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
Sharma and Kohli bring a wealth of experience, having featured in multiple World Cups and holding several batting records. Their presence is expected to bolster the middle order, provide mentorship to younger talent, and add strategic depth as India aims to secure a strong position in the upcoming tournament.
