India’s leading batsman Rohit Sharma has cleared his schedule to participate in the 2026‑27 Vijay Hazare Trophy, according to official sources.
Rohit Sharma, the captain of India’s limited‑overs side, has confirmed that he will be available to play in the 2026‑27 Vijay Hazare Trophy, the premier domestic one‑day competition in India. The announcement came after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a list of players cleared for the tournament. Sharma, who has been a mainstay of the Indian batting lineup for more than a decade, will represent the Mumbai team in the tournament that is scheduled to run from September to October 2026. His presence is expected to bring experience and leadership to the squad. The BCCI said that Sharma’s fitness and form remain at a high level, and he has expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to play in front of home crowds. The Vijay Hazare Trophy is seen as a platform for players to stake claims for national selection ahead of the upcoming international series. While the focus remains on Sharma’s participation, the BCCI has also confirmed that other senior players are available, but the details of the squad will be released closer to the start of the tournament.
