Authorities in Goa have imposed temporary bans on road excavation and drone operations in several areas as Home Minister Amit Shah prepares to visit the state.
The Goa government announced that road digging activities will be halted in selected zones until after Home Minister Amit Shah's scheduled visit. The restriction aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid disruptions during the high‑profile itinerary.
In addition, the state’s civil aviation and police departments have ordered a temporary suspension of drone flights over the same areas. Officials said the measure is intended to prevent any security breaches and to maintain public safety while the minister is on the ground.
Both orders are effective immediately and will remain in force until the minister’s departure from the state. Local contractors and hobbyist drone operators have been advised to seek clearance before resuming work.
The move reflects standard protocol for security arrangements surrounding visits by senior Union officials, and similar restrictions have been imposed in other states during comparable events.
