Riz Ahmed Beats Fahadh Faasil, Vir Das for ‘Digger’ Role, Hopes to Collaborate

Riz Ahmed, the Oscar‑nominated British‑Indian actor, revealed that he has been cast in the upcoming film’s ‘Digger’ role, a part that was also being considered for Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil and comedian‑actor Vir Das. The information comes from an interview with The Indian Express, where Ahmed discussed the selection process.

Ahmed said he was aware of the strong competition from Faasil and Das, both of whom have a substantial fan base in India. He noted that the final decision rested with the director and producers, who ultimately chose him for the role.

Expressing optimism, Ahmed added that he looks forward to the possibility of sharing screen space with either or both of the Indian actors in future projects, underscoring a growing trend of cross‑border collaborations in cinema.
