The Rewa district collector arrived at SGMH at 10 pm, criticised the hospital’s lax environment as a makeshift picnic spot and directed officials to rectify the situation immediately.
The district collector of Rewa, accompanied by the senior police officer, reached Shri Govind Maharaj Hospital (SGMH) at around 10 pm on Tuesday. Upon inspection, the official observed that the premises were being treated more like a picnic area than a medical facility, a situation he said could not be tolerated.
He warned the hospital administration that such laxity jeopardises patient care and ordered an immediate overhaul of the facility’s management and cleanliness standards. The collector also instructed that both the district administration and police officers retain the authority to conduct surprise inspections at any time to ensure compliance.
The stern admonishment underscores growing concerns about the upkeep of public hospitals in the region, with authorities emphasizing that health institutions must maintain strict standards to serve the community effectively.
