Madhya Pradesh police have filed an FIR against retired IPS officer Raghveer Singh Meena for allegedly using a forged Scheduled Tribe certificate, which a probe committee has already declared invalid.
Guna district police on Tuesday lodged a First Information Report against retired Indian Police Service officer Raghveer Singh Meena, alleging that he obtained and used a forged Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate to secure his police posting. The certificate, which purported to confirm Meena's ST status, was examined by a high‑level inquiry committee that subsequently declared it invalid.
The vigilance wing of the state police has now taken over the case, focusing on the entire chain of issuance, the manner in which the document was employed, and any benefits derived from it. Investigators are also verifying whether any other officials or agencies were complicit in the alleged fraud.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about potential penalties or the timeline for the investigation, but the FIR signals a rigorous approach toward curbing fraudulent documentation in recruitment and service matters within the police force.
