Bhakiyu Lakhkhowal staged a protest at the Executive Engineer's office in Lalru to demand an end to frequent electricity outages.
Lalru, a town in Punjab's Mohali district, saw a local resident, Bhakiyu Lakhkhowal, stage a demonstration outside the Executive Engineer (XEN) office on Tuesday. The protest was aimed at drawing attention to repeated power cuts that have disrupted daily life and business activities in the area.
Lakhkhowal, accompanied by a small group of residents, held placards and raised his voice against the unreliable electricity supply, urging the XEN to address the issue promptly. He highlighted that the outages have been occurring at irregular intervals, affecting households, schools, and small enterprises.
Local officials have not yet issued a formal response, but the protest underscores growing frustration among citizens over inadequate power infrastructure. The demonstration remained peaceful, and authorities were observed monitoring the gathering.
The incident reflects broader concerns in several parts of Punjab where power shortages continue to challenge both urban and rural communities.
