Reservation lottery for 2026 Dausa Panchayati Raj elections reserves 15 of 37 wards for women

The reservation draw for Rajasthan’s Dausa district council elections has earmarked 15 of the 37 wards for women candidates and set aside 14 panchayat samiti president posts, reshaping the contest for senior aspirants.
The election commission for Rajasthan’s Dausa district council released the reservation lottery for the 2026 Panchayati Raj polls on Tuesday. The draw determines which seats are reserved for women and which for general candidates across the 37 wards that make up the district council.
According to the official list, 15 wards have been allocated to women candidates, while the remaining 22 remain open. In addition, the reservation schedule for the 14 panchayat samiti (block-level) president positions has been fixed, with a proportion set aside for female leadership.
The outcome alters the calculations of several senior politicians who had been eyeing these seats. With a significant number of wards now out of reach for male aspirants, party units are revisiting candidate lists and negotiating alliances to accommodate the new reservation pattern.
Election officials have confirmed that the reservation framework will be applied as announced, and the filing of nominations is scheduled to begin next week, ahead of the full poll schedule later in the year.
