Pages of a religious text discovered on a Muzaffarpur road triggered anger among locals, prompting a police response that quelled the tension.
In the Nagar police‑station jurisdiction of Muzaffarpur district, a few torn pages of a religious book were found lying on a central road. The discovery quickly inflamed onlookers, leading to a sizeable, agitated crowd demanding an explanation.
Local police units arrived at the scene within minutes. Officers formed a cordon, engaged with the protesters, and assured them that the matter would be investigated. Their prompt action helped prevent the situation from escalating further.
Authorities have launched an inquiry to determine how the pages ended up on the roadway and to identify any responsible parties. During the operation, police also detained an individual described as mentally disturbed, who was later taken into custody for his safety and that of the public.
The police have indicated that further steps, including possible legal action, will follow based on the investigation's findings.
