Ravishankar, who vanished from Rosda, Samastipur four years ago, was found alive in the National Capital Region. Police had earlier jailed three suspects in the case, but the search was ultimately carried out by the former suspects themselves.
Ravishankar, a resident of Samastipur, had been reported missing from the Rosda area in 2020. The disappearance triggered a police investigation that led to the arrest and incarceration of three individuals suspected of kidnapping and murder.
Despite the arrests, the case remained unresolved for years, with no concrete evidence linking the suspects to Ravishankar’s whereabouts. In early 2024, a group of men who had previously been charged in the case located the missing man in the National Capital Region.
The men brought Ravishankar to the Rosda police station, where authorities confirmed he was alive and unharmed. The discovery has prompted a review of the earlier investigation and raised questions about the motives behind the initial arrests.
Law enforcement officials have stated that they will reopen the case to determine whether the suspects’ involvement was genuine or a misdirection. Meanwhile, Ravishankar’s family expressed relief and gratitude for his safe return.
