The Rashtriya Raksha University in New Delhi concluded a BRICS‑focused training programme on anti‑money‑laundering and counter‑terrorist financing, enhancing regional cooperation.

New Delhi – Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) has formally closed a capacity‑building programme aimed at strengthening anti‑money‑laundering (AML) and counter‑financing of terrorism (CFT) measures among the BRICS nations. The initiative, jointly coordinated with the BRICS finance and law‑enforcement community, ran for several weeks and featured a series of workshops, case‑study analyses and simulation exercises.

Participants included senior officials and investigators from India, Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa, who engaged in sessions on risk‑based assessment, legal frameworks, and the use of technology for transaction monitoring. Trainers from RRU and partner agencies highlighted recent global regulatory trends and shared best practices to improve cross‑border information sharing.

The programme concluded with a plenary review where delegates affirmed a commitment to implement the learned methodologies within their respective jurisdictions. Officials described the training as a critical step toward harmonising AML/CFT standards across the BRICS bloc and bolstering collective financial security.

Rashtriya Raksha University, a premier institution under the Ministry of Defence, noted that the successful execution of the programme underscores India’s growing role in international financial‑crime prevention initiatives.
