A tigress identified as T-93 was observed with her cub in the Lahpur sector of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve‑I, raising the reserve’s tiger count to 63.
A tigress bearing the identification tag T-93 was recently sighted together with her cub in the Lahpur zone of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve‑I. Forest officials confirmed the observation during a routine patrol, noting the mother‑cub pair moving through the scrubland.
The appearance of a new family unit is being taken as a positive sign for the reserve’s wildlife management, as it contributes to the steady rise in the resident tiger population. With this sighting, the official count of tigers in Ranthambore has climbed to 63, the highest recorded figure for the protected area.
Conservation authorities said the increase reflects the success of anti‑poaching measures and habitat restoration efforts undertaken over the past years. Ongoing camera‑trap monitoring and regular patrolling will continue to track the cub’s development and the overall health of the tiger cohort in the reserve.
