Ranbir Kapoor’s 2026 Ramayana to Differ from Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 Classic in Five Key Ways

The Daily Jagran has highlighted five major differences between the forthcoming 2026 Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor and the iconic 1987 Ramayan produced by Ramanand Sagar. While the 1987 series remains a landmark in Indian television history, the new adaptation is set to bring a fresh perspective to the epic narrative. The report does not detail the specific differences, but it underscores that the 2026 version will diverge significantly in storytelling, production design, and possibly casting choices. Industry observers anticipate that the updated rendition will aim to appeal to a contemporary audience while retaining the core themes of the original. The comparison underscores the evolving nature of retelling mythological tales in Indian media.
