Rajya Sabha By-Election Voting Begins in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand
Voting for the biennial Rajya Sabha by-elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand started on the morning of October 16.
The voting process for the Rajya Sabha biennial by-elections in the northern states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand commenced early on October 16. Election officials opened polling stations across both states, allowing electors to cast their votes in the first phase of the election.
The by-elections are being held to fill vacant seats in the upper house of Parliament, following the expiry of terms for incumbent members. The schedule aligns with the Election Commission's timetable for conducting Rajya Sabha elections in a staggered manner across the country.
Authorities have deployed security personnel and election staff to ensure a smooth and orderly voting process. Voter turnout and the final results will be announced after the counting of votes, as per the standard procedure for Rajya Sabha elections.
