In Rajpura, thieves used a spray to blind the ATM screen and CCTV, then stole approximately ₹5 lakh from a Kenara Bank ATM.
A robbery at a Kenara Bank ATM in Rajpura on Tuesday saw thieves use a spray to obscure the machine’s screen and the surrounding CCTV cameras. The attackers then withdrew about ₹5 lakh before fleeing the scene.
Security footage captured the incident, showing the perpetrators spraying a chemical agent on the ATM’s display and the camera lens. The spray temporarily blinded the camera, allowing the thieves to operate without being recorded.
Police recovered the CCTV footage and are currently reviewing it to identify the suspects. The bank has confirmed the loss and is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators are canvassing the area for additional evidence and have urged witnesses to come forward with any information about the robbery.
