Rajnath Singh lauds Yogi Adityanath’s ‘One District, One Product’ shift in UP

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the Yogi Adityanath administration has fundamentally altered Uttar Pradesh’s economic landscape. He noted that the state, once stereotyped for criminal syndicates dominating districts, is now promoting a focused product‑centric approach, encouraging each district to specialise in a flagship commodity.

Singh highlighted that the new strategy aims to boost local employment, attract investment and improve export potential. By aligning agricultural, industrial and tourism assets with district‑specific strengths, the government hopes to create sustainable growth and reduce the influence of organised crime.

The remarks were made during a public event where Singh praised the state’s progress and urged continued implementation of the ‘one district, one product’ model across all districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Analysts view the shift as part of a broader effort to rebrand the state’s image and stimulate inclusive development, though they caution that effective execution will be critical.
