Police in Rajkot tied five murder suspects, among them Shahnawaz of the Murgha gang, to a rope and escorted them to the crime scene, officials said.
Rajkot police on Tuesday restrained five individuals accused of murder by binding them with a rope before moving them to the designated crime scene. Among the five is Shahnawaz, identified as a member of the Murgha gang, which has been under police scrutiny in recent months.
The operation was carried out by a team of investigators who said the rope was used to ensure the suspects could not flee or tamper with evidence while being transported. Once at the scene, the suspects were presented to senior officers for further questioning.
Authorities have not disclosed the specific details of the murder case, but the involvement of a known gang figure suggests a broader criminal investigation. Police spokesperson reiterated that the suspects will face legal procedures in accordance with the law.
The move underscores the police’s intent to maintain tight control over high‑risk suspects during investigative procedures, aiming to prevent any disruption to the evidentiary process.
