The Tamil‑language film ‘Jailer 2’, starring Rajinikanth, has crossed 4 million advance bookings, making it the latest movie to achieve back‑to‑back million‑ticket sales after its predecessor ‘Jailer’.
The latest installment of the Rajinikanth franchise, ‘Jailer 2’, has recorded more than 4 million bookings on the BookMyShow platform, according to data reported by Sacnilk. The figure reflects advance ticket reservations across India and overseas markets where the film is being screened.
Crossing the 4‑million mark places ‘Jailer 2’ alongside its predecessor ‘Jailer’, which achieved a rare back‑to‑back million‑ticket sales milestone. Such consecutive high‑volume sales are uncommon in Indian cinema and underscore the superstar’s enduring box‑office pull.
Industry analysts note that the strong booking numbers are likely to translate into a robust opening weekend, reinforcing Rajinikanth’s status as a pan‑Indian draw. The film’s performance is also expected to boost ancillary revenues, including digital streaming rights and merchandise.
The achievement adds to a series of recent box‑office successes for Tamil‑language productions, highlighting the growing acceptance of regional films in the national market.
