The Rajinikanth‑led action sequel Jailer 2 earned ₹317 crore in its opening week, surpassing the top‑grossing Tamil films of the past two years.
The latest Rajinikanth action sequel, Jailer 2, amassed a net box‑office collection of ₹317 crore within its first seven days of release, according to Hindustan Times. This figure reflects the film's strong opening across domestic and overseas markets.
The ₹317 crore haul places Jailer 2 ahead of the highest‑grossing Tamil movies released over the last two years, marking a new benchmark for the regional industry. Analysts note that the film's performance outstrips previous blockbusters that had dominated the Tamil box‑office during this period.
Industry observers view the success as a reaffirmation of Rajinikanth's star power and the growing appetite for high‑budget action franchises in South Indian cinema. The milestone further solidifies the film’s position as one of the most lucrative releases of the year.
