In the first phase of Rajasthan’s urban local body elections, voter turnout reached 72.09% across 5,393 wards, with Arnod in Pratapgarh recording the highest turnout of 91.98% and Chittorgarh the lowest at 61.49%.
The first phase of Rajasthan's urban local body elections covered 162 municipal bodies across 39 districts, encompassing a total of 5,393 wards. Overall voter participation stood at 72.09%, indicating a robust engagement compared with previous urban polls.
Among the wards, Arnod in Pratapgarh district posted the highest turnout, with 91.98% of registered voters casting their ballots. At the opposite end, the Chittorgarh Municipal Council recorded the lowest participation at 61.49%.
Analysts note that smaller towns and semi‑urban areas displayed greater enthusiasm, while larger cities lagged behind, a pattern that could shape the strategies of political parties ahead of the remaining phases.
Election officials confirmed that the process proceeded smoothly, with security and polling staff deployed across all centers. The next phases are scheduled to continue later this month, covering the remaining urban bodies in the state.
