The Rajasthan government will carry out security audits at key tourist attractions until September 30, with additional police forces deployed over weekends to strengthen visitor safety.
The Rajasthan government announced a comprehensive security audit of its major tourist sites, effective from today and running until September 30. The audit aims to identify vulnerabilities and enhance safety measures for both tourists and pilgrims visiting the state's historic monuments.
In addition to the audit, authorities will deploy extra police units on weekends to ensure smooth crowd management and rapid response to any incidents. The move comes as part of a broader initiative to boost confidence among visitors amid rising security concerns.
Tourism officials said the audit will cover sites such as Udaipur’s Lake Palace, Jodhpur’s Mehrangarh Fort, and Jaipur’s Amer Fort, among others. Findings will be used to upgrade infrastructure, improve surveillance, and train local security staff.
The state’s Home Department will oversee the operation, coordinating with the Rajasthan Police and the Department of Tourism. Officials emphasized that the measures are precautionary and will not affect the normal functioning of the attractions.
