Rajasthan to Commission 60 New CNG Stations This Fiscal Year, 23 Already Operational

The Rajasthan government plans to add 60 CNG filling stations across the state this year, with 23 already functional, aiming to boost clean fuel availability.
Jaipur, Rajasthan – The state administration announced a major expansion of its compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure, targeting the launch of 60 new stations during the current financial year. The move is part of a broader effort to increase the share of cleaner fuels in Rajasthan's transport sector.
As of now, 23 of the planned stations are already operational, serving key urban and highway corridors. The remaining sites will be rolled out in phases, with priority given to high‑traffic districts and regions lacking adequate fuel facilities.
Officials said the initiative aligns with the government's energy‑security objectives and is expected to lower vehicular emissions while providing cost‑effective fuel options for commuters and commercial fleets.
The rollout will be monitored by the state’s Energy Department, which will coordinate with private partners for construction, commissioning and maintenance of the CNG outlets.
If successful, the expanded network could set a precedent for other Indian states seeking to accelerate the adoption of cleaner transportation fuels.
