Three BTech and physiotherapy students from Rajasthan are alleged to have hacked a company's system, siphoning ₹6.80 crore in a scheme dubbed the 'Boss Scam'.
Three students pursuing BTech and physiotherapy courses in Rajasthan are under investigation for allegedly breaching a corporate network and diverting ₹6.80 crore from the company’s accounts.
According to preliminary reports, the students accessed the system through phishing emails and exploited weak security protocols to transfer funds to accounts they controlled. The scheme, which has been labeled the 'Boss Scam', is said to have taken place over several months.
Law enforcement officials have seized the students’ laptops and mobile devices, and the case has been forwarded to the cybercrime cell for further examination. The company has issued a statement confirming the loss and is cooperating with authorities.
The incident has raised concerns about cybersecurity practices in Indian firms and the vulnerability of student interns to insider threats.
