A school in Rajasthan flagged by the Central Juvenile Police has been razed, and authorities have cleared a Rs 18 lakh construction plan for its replacement.
The state education department confirmed that the school premises in Rajasthan, which came under scrutiny after a Central Juvenile Police (CJP) investigation, were demolished last week. The probe had highlighted structural violations and safety concerns, prompting officials to order the building's removal to protect students and staff.
Following the demolition, the department approved a new construction project estimated at Rs 18 lakh. The proposed structure will include modern classrooms, a library, and basic sanitation facilities, aiming to meet current safety standards and provide a conducive learning environment.
State officials said the new building is slated to begin construction within the next month, with an expected completion timeline of six to eight months. In the interim, displaced students will be accommodated in nearby government schools to ensure continuity of education.
