Rajasthan Royals batsman breaks Chris Gayle’s T20 record with new highest score

The Rajasthan Royals’ batting line‑up produced a historic moment when one of its stars eclipsed Chris Gayle’s long‑standing record for the highest individual score in a T20 match. The innings, played during the ongoing IPL season, saw the player compile a run total that exceeded Gayle’s previous best, rewriting the record books for the shortest format of the game.

Cricket analysts highlighted the significance of the achievement, noting that Gayle’s record, set in 2013, had endured for over a decade despite the explosive nature of modern T20 cricket. Surpassing it underscores the evolving skill set of Indian franchise players and adds a new milestone to the league’s rich history.

Team officials and fellow players congratulated the record‑breaker, describing the performance as a blend of power, timing and composure under pressure. The achievement also boosts the Royals’ campaign, providing momentum as they chase a playoff berth.

Fans across the country took to social media to celebrate the feat, with many praising the player’s contribution to Indian cricket’s growing stature on the global T20 stage.
