Sirohi police, under Operation Trinetra, confiscated 1,548.5 kg of cannabis from four fields, valuing the haul at more than ₹1 crore, and arrested two suspects.
Sirohi district police in Rajasthan launched a coordinated raid under the banner of Operation Trinetra, targeting four agricultural fields suspected of illicit cannabis cultivation. The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 1,548.5 kilograms of marijuana plants, a quantity that officials described as the largest haul in recent years for the region.
Authorities from the Pinjwara and Rohida police stations reported that the seized cannabis, hidden among corn crops, is estimated to have a market value exceeding one crore rupees. The police said the plants were in various stages of growth, indicating a well‑organized cultivation network.
Two individuals suspected of overseeing the cultivation were taken into custody during the raid. The police have not disclosed their identities but confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the operation and any possible links to larger drug trafficking networks.
The seizure underscores the state's intensified efforts to curb illegal drug production in agricultural areas, with officials warning that similar operations will continue across Rajasthan.
