Rajasthan police seized about 22,000 litres of adulterated ghee in a pre‑Diwali raid and arrested three suspects.

State law‑enforcement agencies in Rajasthan carried out coordinated raids in the days leading up to Diwali, confiscating roughly 22,000 litres of ghee that officials suspect has been adulterated. The operation targeted storage facilities that were allegedly supplying the product to local markets.

Three individuals were taken into custody during the raids. Police have not disclosed their identities but said they are suspected of overseeing the production and distribution of the substandard ghee.

Authorities warned that consumption of adulterated dairy products can pose serious health risks, especially during the festive season when demand for ghee spikes. The seized stock will be examined in a laboratory to confirm the extent of contamination before any legal action is finalized.

The crackdown underscores the state's heightened vigilance ahead of Diwali, a period when food safety violations often increase. Officials urged consumers to purchase dairy items from reputable sources and to report any suspicious products.
