In a crackdown on illicit liquor production, Rajasthan police dismantled a clandestine distillery in Dholpur’s Ideal Nagar village, destroying 5,000 litres of wash and 15 crude stills, while the alleged operator escaped.
Police from the Dholpur Sadar Police Station carried out a surprise raid on a hidden distillery in Ideal Nagar village on Thursday morning. The operation led to the destruction of approximately 5,000 litres of wash, the intermediate product used in illicit liquor production, and the demolition of 15 crude stills.
The raid was part of a broader initiative to curb illegal alcohol manufacturing in the district. Officers reported that the site was equipped with makeshift equipment and had been operating covertly for several months.
During the operation, the alleged operator attempted to flee but was unable to escape. The suspect remains at large, and police have issued a notice for his arrest.
The Dholpur Police Commissioner stated that the operation was a success in eliminating a major source of illegal liquor and that further investigations will continue to identify other hidden distilleries in the region.
