Rajasthan police orchestrated a cross‑border sting that lured a wanted drug trafficker from a temple in Kathmandu to the Bihar border, where he was intercepted.
The Rajasthan Police Department announced that it had successfully lured a wanted drug trafficker from a temple in Kathmandu to the Bihar border as part of a joint operation with Indian and Nepalese authorities.
The operation, which began on a Sunday, involved a covert team that posed as traders and used a pre‑arranged meeting to lure the suspect into a controlled area.
When the trafficker reached the border, a joint patrol of Rajasthan and Bihar police intercepted him and seized a cache of narcotics.
The incident underscores the growing cooperation between Indian states and Nepal in tackling cross‑border drug trafficking and is expected to deter future smuggling attempts.
