Rajasthan police launched a massive security drive ahead of the upcoming local body elections, sealing off 929 points for a four‑hour period. During the operation, officers stopped and examined a total of 50,662 vehicles, checking documents and compliance with traffic regulations.

The enforcement action resulted in 9,421 violations being recorded under the Motor Vehicle Act, ranging from missing permits to illegal modifications. In addition, police detained 286 individuals suspected of breaching election‑related rules or traffic laws.

Authorities said the sweep was intended to prevent any misuse of transport resources and curb potential disruptions during the election process. The police have urged citizens to cooperate with the checks and maintain law and order as the polls approach.
