Police in Ajmer district have nabbed a second suspect in the Rs 3 crore robbery at a transport trader's house in Nasirabad, who had entered the premises posing as an income‑tax officer.
The Ajmer police announced the arrest of an additional accused linked to the robbery that netted roughly Rs 3 crore from a transport businessman in Nasirabad, Ajmer district. Investigators said the suspect gained entry to the victim's house by masquerading as an income‑tax officer, thereby lowering the guard of the occupants.
The operation to apprehend the suspect was carried out early this week after the police traced his movements through CCTV footage and witness statements. The arrested individual is currently in police custody and is being interrogated for further details about the heist and any accomplices.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the other suspects already in custody, nor have they provided a timeline for the recovery of the stolen cash. The case remains under active investigation, with officials urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
