The state will allow fireworks only in the form of certified green crackers in five NCR districts on November 7‑8, with strict timing and added pollution controls.
The Rajasthan government announced that for the upcoming Diwali celebrations, the use of fireworks will be restricted to certified green firecrackers in five districts that form the state's National Capital Region (NCR). The measure is intended to reduce air‑pollution while still permitting festive celebrations.
Permission is confined to November 7 and 8, and fireworks may be set off only during the time slots prescribed by the authorities. Any use of conventional firecrackers outside these parameters will be prohibited.
The administration also warned that construction work, dust generation and vehicle emissions will be closely monitored, with penalties for violations. This reflects a broader effort to improve air quality during the festival period.
Officials noted that green crackers meet environmental standards and emit fewer particulates, and they will be available through authorized dealers.
