The third phase of Rajasthan’s Panchayat elections will be held across 27 districts, covering 2,496 wards, with more than one crore voters choosing among 9,094 candidates.

The Election Commission of India has scheduled the third phase of the Rajasthan Panchayat elections for the coming days. Voters in 27 districts will cast their ballots in 2,496 wards, marking a crucial step in the state’s local‑government renewal.

More than one crore registered electors are expected to turn out, and they will decide the fate of 9,094 candidates who have filed nominations across the contested wards. The large candidate pool reflects intense competition at the grassroots level, where each ward elects a sarpanch or ward member.

Among the districts, Bharatpur, Dausa and Hanumangarh stand out for the high number of aspirants, making the contests there particularly keenly watched. Local party units have mobilised volunteers and resources to sway voters in these hotly contested areas.

The commission has deployed additional polling staff and security personnel to ensure a smooth voting process. Results are slated to be announced within a week after counting, setting the stage for the final phases of the Panchayat polls in the state.
