By 3 p.m. on voting day, 57.38% of the 87.6 million registered voters in Rajasthan’s 147 urban local bodies had cast their ballots, according to the Election Commission.
The Election Commission reported that, as of 3 p.m., 57.38 per cent of eligible voters had exercised their franchise in the 2026 Rajasthan municipal elections. Out of a total of 87,63,599 registered electors across the state’s 147 urban local bodies, 50,28,768 had already voted.
The turnout figure, released by the commission’s field office, reflects a moderate pace of voting, prompting concern among several candidates who had hoped for a faster surge in participation. Election officials have urged remaining voters to reach polling stations before the close of voting at 7 p.m.
The municipal polls, which determine control of local councils and civic administration, are seen as a bellwether for broader political trends in the state ahead of the next legislative assembly election. Authorities have deployed additional security and logistical support to ensure smooth conduct for the remaining hours of the exercise.
