MP Hanuman Beniwal and MLA Lakshmanram Meghwal exchanged sharp accusations, with the MLA warning the MP over alleged irregularities in crop insurance, limestone and illegal sand mining in Nagaur.

Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal faced a forceful rebuttal from state legislator Lakshmanram Meghwal on Thursday. Meghwal accused the MP of turning a blind eye to alleged malpractices in the region's crop insurance scheme and of facilitating unlawful extraction of limestone and sand.

The MLA said the crop insurance payouts have been misused, leading to financial losses for genuine farmers. He further alleged that illegal sand mining activities, often referred to as "bajri" mining, are being conducted with the tacit support of local officials, compromising riverbeds and environmental safety.

In response, Meghwal warned Beniwal that continued negligence could invite legal scrutiny and public backlash. He urged the MP to address the grievances promptly and ensure that agricultural and mining policies are enforced transparently.

Both leaders belong to the state's political arena, and the exchange underscores growing tensions over resource management and farmer welfare in Rajasthan.
