Police in Rajasthan have detained a man accused of cheating a Dehradun resident of Rs 1.8 crore through an online gaming scheme.

Rajasthan police arrested a suspect after a detailed investigation linked him to a large‑scale online gaming fraud that duped a resident of Dehradun of Rs 1.8 crore. The victim had been approached through a popular gaming platform where the accused promised high returns on virtual bets.

According to officials, the perpetrator created fake player profiles and used sophisticated digital tools to convince the victim to deposit substantial sums. The scheme unfolded over several months before the victim noticed a massive shortfall and filed a complaint.

Law enforcement agencies traced the financial transactions and digital footprints back to the suspect's location in Rajasthan, leading to his apprehension. The accused is currently in custody and faces charges of cheating, fraud and cyber‑crime violations.

The case underscores growing concerns about online gaming fraud in India, prompting authorities to advise users to verify the credibility of platforms and avoid sharing personal or banking details with unknown players.
