The Rajasthan High Court has issued a directive to audit the state’s midday meal programme, tighten controls on examination paper leaks and create student unions in schools.

The Rajasthan High Court, sitting in Jodhpur, released a comprehensive set of recommendations aimed at addressing the concerns of the state's Generation Z population. The order calls for an immediate audit of the midday meal scheme to ensure quality, transparency and proper utilization of funds.

In addition, the court directed education authorities to strengthen mechanisms that prevent the leakage of examination papers, a recurring issue that undermines the credibility of assessments. The directive includes stricter monitoring of printing and distribution processes.

The bench also urged the state government to facilitate the formation of student unions in schools, arguing that organized student bodies can give young people a voice in educational policy and campus affairs. The court emphasized that these steps should be implemented promptly to improve the overall educational environment in Rajasthan.
